Veterinary care is evolving, and telemedicine is playing a key role in addressing the challenges of today’s industry. By leveraging technology like digital photos and videos, veterinarians can offer faster diagnoses, reduce stress for animals, and collaborate more efficiently with livestock producers. Telemedicine isn’t replacing in-person care, but it’s enhancing access to expert guidance, improving outcomes, and helping meet the growing demand for veterinary services. Explore how this blend of traditional and virtual care is shaping the future of animal health. https://lnkd.in/gFZAhwGR

Improving access to care through education, best practices, and advocacy of veterinary virtual care.
About us
The Veterinary Virtual Care Association (VVCA) is dedicated to enhancing access to veterinary care by promoting best practices, education, and advocacy for virtual care. With the unprecedented surge of technology solutions, the immediate need for virtual care due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the approval of virtual care in human medicine, there is a pressing need for a unified approach to expedite the adoption of virtual veterinary care. There needs to be more organization among practitioners, technology providers, and other stakeholders, resulting in a fragmented landscape. We aim to rectify this by advocating for best practices, offering educational resources from esteemed leaders, and fostering collaboration among professionals to advance telehealth adoption. In today's world, virtual care is crucial for providing safe, effective, and appropriate veterinary care to animals across the globe. The VVCA is committed to driving responsible, accelerated, and impactful progress by uniting the brightest minds in this field under one roof.

A legal victory for veterinary telemedicine! The federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the Texas ban on establishing a VCPR via telemedicine, ruling that prohibiting it violates veterinarians' First Amendment rights. Read all about it in this Fountain Report featured piece written by Mark Cushing.
Our Founder and CEO, Mark L. Cushing , in the featured article on this week's The Fountain Report. Sign up for The Fountain Report using the link below. "Two events of the past month signal support on the federal level of telemedicine established VCPRs. First, the federal court system last week issued a major ruling overturning the state of Texas ban on establishing a VCPR by telemedicine. Second, contrary to what opponents of veterinary telemedicine are promoting – a recent FDA advisory Q&A did NOT ban veterinary telemedicine." https://lnkd.in/eyY2ZDgY
