It was just another day at WASHINGTON RURAL ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE ASSOCIATION member cooperative NESPELEM VALLEY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE. An owl caused an outage downstream of Grand Coulee Dam. Luckily, the linemen and CEO Kevin Black were on the spot to ensure the restoration of power to some of their biggest customers. #cooppower #affordablepower

So great to meet with Rep. Chipalo Street yesterday to share the Washington Electric Co-op story. Great early morning meeting in Seattle’s Madrona neighborhood.

What a day and what day of travel to see four great members of the Washington State House and Senate. I started off the day traveling from Olympia to Centralia to see Rep. Peter Abbarno . From Centralia, I hiked it up the I-5 corridor to Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood for a meeting with Rep. Liz Berry followed by a great Thai lunch on Mercer Island to discuss the issues with Sen. Lisa Wellman. To cap it all off, it was great to see the House Majority Leader Joe Fitzgibbon in White Center. Great day, well worth the driving (and the frustrating traffic). It was great to talk about wildfire policy, power supply limitations (there isn't enough power in the Northwest), and the preservation of the Lower Snake River Dam power supply with all these legislators. Thank you!

I had a great meeting with Rep. Ed Orcutt today in Kalama. We discussed co-op issues and what it takes to keep the lights on for the 27 meters on the eastern edge of Washington's 20th legislative district, which includes White Pass Ski area. Thanks Rep.
