Good morning #washingtonstate! Help us celebrate the inaugural #988Day, a national initiative aimed at raising awareness about the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. This important day highlights the critical need for mental health support and suicide prevention in our communities. The 988 Lifeline is a lifeline for anyone in crisis. By simply calling or texting 988 or visiting 988lifeline.org, individuals can connect with compassionate and trained professionals who provide support for mental health distress, substance use crises, or thoughts of suicide. Why is this important? Because mental health struggles can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or situation. The 988 Lifeline is available 24/7—day or night, weekends or holidays—ensuring that help is always just a call or text away. Whether you are in crisis or supporting someone who is, you are not alone. Today, let’s come together to spread the word about this essential resource. Share this message, talk openly about mental health, and encourage those around you to seek help when needed. Together, we can create a world where everyone feels supported and understood. Let’s make mental health a priority and remind each other that it’s okay to ask for help. 💚 #988Day #MentalHealthAwareness #CrisisSupport #YouAreNotAlone #EndTheStigma #nojudgement #justhelp

Washington State Department of Social and Health Services reposted this
Well…someone pass me some tissues 😭🤧. Last week, a former colleague tracked me down on FB to get my new address because my previous administration realized they never gave me my service award. I was expecting just a piece of paper. Instead, my former boss had it framed and enclosed a personalized letter of appreciation. Thank you, Linda, for making sure I received this even after being separated! I’m so grateful!! Y’all, if you live in Washington, go work for the Developmental Disabilities Administration!!! I seriously have never loved a job or work environment more. And I miss it like crazy!! Washington State Department of Social and Health Services
