We interviewed thousands of families to learn how they want to be supported, and how education leaders can meet families where they are. In our CARES Framework for Building Family Engagement, ‘C’ is for communication—because that’s what families value most with educators. Families want non-judgemental dialogue. This is the bedrock of effective family-teacher relationships and helps build trust. Another must-have for families is clear, concise information. Learn what else families want from school leaders with our CARES family engagement ebook. 📙 https://lnkd.in/e7ccUVUP #EarlyEducation #EarlyLearning #FamilyEngagement #Literacy #EdTech #ProfessionalLearning

We know that successful education solutions include families and strengthen communities—but what does that actually look like? After interviewing thousands of families, Waterford expert Jennifer Torres, EdD created a framework that delivers the support families want, and is easy for education leaders to incorporate into their programs: the CARES Framework for Building Family Engagement. Learn the 5 themes we heard from families when asked what they wanted from family-school relationships ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e7ccUVUP #EarlyEducation #EarlyLearning #FamilyEngagement #Literacy #EdTech #ProfessionalLearning

As my week wraps up, I could not be more full of excitement and feel the fire reigniting inside of me. I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Waterford.org Fall Partner Summit earlier this week where I was honored to take part in a panel discussion and represent #earlychildhood professionals and #headstart with my new friends from Louisiana sharing our stories and experiences. Not only did I get to share my passion to fill others cups, mine received a long overdue refill. And I got to fan girl at Dr. Deborah Bergeron! It is always amazing to hear her speak and represent the #headstartcommunity like she does so well. #whenigrowupgoals 💙❤️ Thank you to all that worked so tirelessly to make the days happen. It was such an amazing time. I can’t wait to do it again!

Thanks Clark Beal and Waterford.org for the opportunity to attend the Fall Partner Summit and reignite my passion for family engagement in early learning. Dr. Deborah Bergeron’s keynote was spot-on- it takes a village- everyone (staff and families) working together alongside one another for children to thrive. Dr. Amy Washington and I are leaving with a long list of ideas to bring back to Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools and Kansas City Kansas Public Schools Early Childhood/Head Start. #kckps #BetterEveryDay #FamilyEngagement #EarlyLearning

📘 Multilingual learners thrive when provided with resources that honor their linguistic diversity and build skills that transfer across languages. Offering materials in various languages, nurturing their home language development, and delivering customized instruction all help to address the individual needs of each student. By equipping learners and families with the necessary tools, we enable their success.📘 Check out more on teaching multilingual learners in early education here: https://lnkd.in/eH825g_E. Thank you Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency for giving me the opportunity to execute my second literacy fair which took place over 2 consecutive days. This opportunity allowed me to offer resources to several head start locations during their monthly parent meetings with the help of several community partners. Parents were able to meet with experts in the field of literacy and childhood development to promote reading and early literacy. Special thanks to Winn Reading, Waterford.org, Cincinnati Children's, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, Everybody is LITT Academy, and Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library - Clifton branch, for sharing your knowledge and resources with the families and for your flexibility and willingness to go where there was a need! #literacyfair #community #resources
