  • Over this past weekend, our very own Straight To Cam hosts Cam Brink and Sydel Curry-Lee partnered with Anthropologie to host the Legacy Lounge: Cocktails + Luncheon to celebrate + elevate friends and family for International Women's Day. Bringing together leaders from sports, entertainment, and multiple other fields, the intimate event honored the uniqueness of every woman, embracing authenticity, staying curious, and owning your own power — themes embodied by our hosts and guests alike. At Wave, we are honored to continue to platform women's stories and we strive to empower them every day, on and off the mic.

  • We’re thrilled to announce Wave Sports & Entertainment’s newest show, Straight To Cam. Hosted by WNBA star (and Podcast P favorite) Cameron Brink alongside Sydel Curry-Lee, the show promises to deliver the duo’s unfiltered thoughts on everything from dating and self care to the latest sports and pop culture headlines with special guests dropping in to chop it up. Straight To Cam premieres January 28th with new episodes dropping every Tuesday after that. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been cooking up with Cam! • We’re excited to announce the launch of Wave Sports & Entertainment's new brand identity — a reflection of our evolution, aspirations, and commitment to delivering the very best in sports and entertainment to the next generation of fans. Why the change? Simply put: we’ve grown and evolved as a company. It’s time our branding reflects our expanded capabilities and diverse, growing slate of original programming. Our new brand identity is a reflection of who we are today and where we’re going in the future. This rebrand doesn’t represent just a cool new visual identity (although, it definitely does that too). It represents a strategic leap forward as we continue connecting fans with their passions, athletes and entertainers with their audiences, and communities to the stories that matter most to them. We’re looking ahead to who we will be in the next decade, positioning us for continued growth, leadership, and success. We are proud to introduce a brand that reflects the energy, vision, and ambition of our team. Stay tuned as we continue to push the boundaries of sports and entertainment.

  • Wave and many of our employees are so proud to call Los Angeles home. We are devastated by the wildfires that continue to burn and are thinking of those whose lives have have been effected as a result of this tragedy. It can feel overwhelming when looking for places to help, so we wanted to share this Google Doc that has been a great resource for us. It contains a huge list of all the organizations, mutual aid, and direct response teams that have mobilized across the city of Los Angeles. It's broken down by location (including address), what donations they're accepting, what they're providing for anyone displaced, their hours (if applicable) and if they need volunteers. A lot of these are mutual aid and direct relief organizations which are great places to give your resources to, as they'll get to those who need it quickly. You can find the Google Doc here: https://lnkd.in/gE9PtsFW Another great resource for helping out families with young children is the organization Baby2Baby. You can donate to their efforts to provide relief for families effected by the fires at: https://lnkd.in/gNSuprFh LA, we love you and know that we'll come back stronger than ever

CEO at Wave Sports + Entertainment

From day one, the goal for Wave Sports + Entertainment has always been to build a Sports, Media, and Entertainment Company for the next generation of fans, so the formation, and announcement, of Wave Media Agency, is just simply in line with our core mission and vision that began 7 years ago. During that time, Wave has built many of the largest and most highly engaged fandom centric communities on the internet, which has “made our team, some of the most—call it highly sought-after experts—when it comes to short form video programming and community building,” Wave CEO Brian Verne said. “We always believed that short form video is paramount when it comes to cultivating and building fandom.” Partners “coming to Wave are looking to acquire new fans, strengthen relationships with existing followers, and—notably—generate revenue as social moves from being a marketing-focused engagement platform to a money-driving distribution tool.” Short form video built for social is the next frontier for sponsorship dollars, thus while billions of dollars are spent annually across more traditional inventory, the vast majority of young fans are found on social, so it was merely a matter of time before sponsorship dollars would follow. So in short, WMA marries our production and distribution expertise to help the top leagues, rightsholders, and sports properties reach, engage, and monetize the next generation of fans. Congrats, Team. https://lnkd.in/gJF266Rb
