How can you know where you want to go if you can't figure out who you are? We created Wayfinder to help all young people find their way. Our PreK-12 curriculum helps students develop future-ready skills, a sense of belonging at school, and the ability to navigate the future with purpose. With beautifully designed lesson materials, we make it easy for teachers to prepare for any lesson in five minutes or less. “I’ve been teaching a really long time, and this is one of the few times my mind has been blown.” Learn what's possible with Wayfinder: https://wfndr.co/495pGCI #curriculum #futurereadyskills #21stcenturyskills

Beyond SEL: Build purpose + belonging for future-ready students.
About us
Wayfinder, developed at the Stanford University d.school, offers a comprehensive K-12 curriculum that goes beyond social-emotional learning to equip students with essential future-ready skills. Rooted in research, Wayfinder's curriculum focuses on Self-Awareness, Adaptability, Empathy, Collaboration, Agency, and Purpose. These skills aim to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications, preparing students for lifelong success. Wayfinder is designed to build meaningful connections, enhance student engagement, and improve school climate. It includes the Waypoints assessment suite, which provides real-time insights into student growth, enabling targeted instruction and timely interventions. The program's flexible implementation options work across settings and grade levels, and it integrates seamlessly with all major learning management systems. Wayfinder has been positively received by both students and teachers since 2015, with significant improvements reported in student engagement, social awareness, and sense of purpose post-implementation. The program has served students from over 65 countries across the globe, including major US districts like Omaha Public Schools, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, Portland Public Schools, and The School District of Philadelphia. Recently, Wayfinder received the highest possible program designation from the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) and the highest possible Learning Rating from Common Sense Education.

“I had just gotten tired of looking at these packaged curriculums that did a really good job saying what they were aligned to, you know—whether it was to the CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning) framework or to the state standards—but the quality of materials and the engagement potential to get young people excited was always very, very narrow and limiting. And I remember, man, when I first grabbed my first hard copy of the curriculum, just the tactile relationship was suggesting to me, 'Oh man, there's something elegant here.' And that really proved true when I started opening it and I saw the quality of the layouts and the thoughtfulness of how the different lessons and so forth are sequenced. It was really, really, really provocative for me.” –Dr. John Gasko Chief Well-Being and SEL Officer at Uplift Education Watch the full conversation between Dr. John Gasko, Ph.D. and Christopher Balme: https://wfndr.co/4eIW7JD #curriculum #sel #podcast

Are you headed to the MASA Fall Conference at Madden's? Visit our Minnesota superstar, Lauren Van Gomple, to explore how Wayfinder is helping students build future-ready skills from PreK-12. 🌟 Lauren is passionate about supporting educators as they provide meaningful and equitable access to resources and direct instruction that help students move through their lives with belonging, meaning, and purpose. Before joining Wayfinder, she served as a K-12 educator + worked with the largest school districts in the country, developing and overhauling equitable MTSS practices and creating streamlined systems for data-based decision making. She has also served as a lecturer at three universities in the Twin Cities area and is currently a staffed lecturer in the special education department at Saint Thomas University.

When most people think of Roadtrip Nation they think of our Roadtrips, RV’s and work on PBS and YouTube each year. That work is fun and fulfilling, but the other side of our work at Roadtrip Nation which may not get as much attention is our awesome network of education partnerships who share Roadtrip Nation's growing 12,000 + video archive and curriculum with over 14 million students in schools across the country each year. One of those partners, Wayfinder (a leading SEL organization that I am also on the board of), has some really exciting news to share. The Hawaii State Department of Education is sponsoring a statewide effort to provide a custom version of Wayfinder accessible to all of Hawaiʻi's 55 middle schools and alternative learning programs across the state! That means that every middle school student in the state of Hawaiʻi will have access to Wayfinder, and also the Roadtrip Nation videos embedded within the experience. Including a Hawaiʻi Roadtrip we did years back focused on career paths and stories local to Hawaiʻi. https://lnkd.in/guuDfayS I have family over in Hawaiʻi so I’ve spent quite a bit of time there over the past 20 years (even living there for a small stint) and have seen up close how important hyper-local storytelling and future ready curriculum is for Hawaiʻi keiki. Inspired by the traditional art, science, and practice of Polynesian wayfinding and developed in collaboration with Hawaiʻi nonprofit Education Incubator, the Hawaiʻi-focused version of the Wayfinder curriculum is bringing together purpose development, future-readiness, and local context. They are also aligning to Nā Hopena A‘o, a statewide framework of six core values often abbreviated as BREATH: Belonging, Responsibility, Excellence, Aloha, Total Well-Being, and Hawaiʻi. Roadtrip Nation is honored and excited to be a part of such a thoughtful and inspiring collaboration between Wayfinder and The Hawaiʻi Department of Education. This is one of those moments that reminds you why you do the work that you do, and of the power that state wide rollouts can have when they are so thoughtfully done. Congrats to the Wayfinder team!

Wayfinder's mission is to help all young people find their way. It was born out of asking one key design question 💭: How can we reimagine adolescent education to develop a student’s sense of #meaning, #purpose, and #belonging? Today, Wayfinder's PreK-12 curriculum helps students develop future-ready skills, a sense of belonging at school, and the ability to navigate – and thrive in – the future. They're HQ'ed in Oregon (+ are an Oregon Venture Fund investment) yet serve globally. Speaking of which... they're hiring for international expansion! 🌍 This is a dream role for people interested in international perspectives *and* the future of #education and #wellbeing. It's a US-based position yet obviously global. Please tag and share with anyone who could be a good fit! https://lnkd.in/gskx8eF7 More on Wayfinder's story: https://lnkd.in/gvNcJt_8 More on Wayfinder's culture: https://lnkd.in/gWeKUar3 Abby Falik, Ingrid L., David Preston, Raya Bidshahri, Craig Zelizer, David Witzel, Andrea Bazoin, Andrea Koppel, Patrick Cook-Deegan, Heather E.
