Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ Dobson, North Carolina team is coming together to support those impacted by Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina, and they need your help! Starting today, Monday, September 30, through Friday, October 4, the team is holding a supply relief drive and working to fill a trailer located in the parking lot between Wayne-Sanderson Farms and Tlaquepaque in Dobson, NC. Donations will be accepted from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Check out the attached photos for a list of needed items. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, today we’re shining a spotlight on Beronica Rocha, Complex Health and Safety Manager at Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ Palestine, Texas complex. Beronica celebrates this special month by participating in community events, attending cultural festivals, and sharing traditional foods with family and friends. She’s proud of the strong family values of her culture and enjoys annual traditions such as celebrating Dia de los Muertos and Las Posadas. In reflecting on who inspires her most, Beronica credits her parents, and mentions how they instilled in her the values of integrity, hard work, and dedication. She states, “Every day, I strive to reflect their values in my work, ensuring that everyone I lead feels safe and valued. I aim to create a positive impact in my field, knowing that my efforts honor the dreams they had for me. In 2024 alone, the team at the Tyler complex raised over $118,000 through direct contributions and company matching funds, pushing their historical donations to-date to over $1 million! Juan DeVillena, Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance and Food Safety recently presented at the Partnership for Food Safety Education’s partner meeting, discussing Microbiological Lot Independence. Additional topics covered at the meeting included awareness campaigns and updates from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (@FDA), U.S. Department of Agriculture (@USDA), and the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The meeting was a great collaboration of industry, academia, and regulatory organizations for the improvement of consumer food safety education! #MakingChickenAmazing

Said takes great pride in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month because it provides an opportunity to highlight and celebrate the diverse experiences and achievements of Hispanic individuals throughout history and those who are influencing society today. He honors this special month by participating in family reunions, attending festivals, and enjoying music and art performances. For Said, family is at the heart of his Hispanic heritage, and it’s one of the aspects he’s most proud of. He says, "Family values help to create a strong bond within the family.
