⚡️Everything RV Park & Campground Owners need to know about the National Electric Code (NEC-P07)⚡️ TLDR; For parks currently operating with properly designed and maintained electric systems, this new requirement SHOULD NOT pose any problems. A properly designed and maintained RV park will have a detectable and proper ground, proper polarity, and voltage in the proper range for the RV's inverter to operate. As mentioned in the 2023 Q4 advocacy newsletter, starting later in 2026, all new RVs will indeed be equipped with Ground Monitor Interrupters. These devices are designed to detect a loss of ground and prevent power from coming on in the RV. Furthermore, depending on which devices the manufacturers use the device could also detect a loss of neutral, reverse polarity, high voltage, and low voltage. OHI stays on top of potentially burdensome changes of the NEC, and any other issues that might affect RV parks and campgrounds. Wade Elliott is OHI’s principal representative who sits on the National Electric Code (Code-Making Panel 7 (NEC-P07)) that deals with RV Parks, Campgrounds, Marinas and Manufactured Homes. If you ever have questions or concerns, we’re here for you. Reach out to ohi-advocacy@ohi.org. 🔗 https://bit.ly/4houzeb.
