Our 2024 Annual Gala was a night to remember! We were blown away by the incredible support of our community as we honored the vital work of Black maternal health advocates and champions of reproductive justice. A special thank you to our amazing honorees, Kimberly Seals Allers and Shawnee Benton-Gibson, LMSW, FDC, for inspiring us all. And thank you to our emcee, Nancy Giles, for making this evening unforgettable. We would also like to give a huge shoutout to our Luminary and Presenting Sponsors, Flagstar Private Bank and Unite Us, as well as all of our other incredible sponsors and supporters. We're just $10,000 away from our fundraising goal! Click here to donate: https://lnkd.in/e4yA_QPy #BlackMaternalHealth #ReproductiveJustice #Community #PublicHealth #Nonprofit

National Infant Mortality Awareness Month (#NIMAM) is held every September, underscoring the alarming data on infant mortality in the United States, which disproportionately affects BIPOC communities. According to the CDC, Black infants have the highest infant mortality rates among racial and ethnic groups. These disparities are rooted in systemic issues, including access to prenatal healthcare and social determinants of health. PHS' Queens Healthy Start is committed to improving maternal and infant health, healthcare access, and addressing systemic inequities for families in South Queens. This year, our 2024 Annual Gala Reception "Reproductive Justice, Dignified Care" aims to raise funds to support our ongoing efforts to improve maternal and infant health.
