Our subsidiary, Healy Tibbitts Builders, is hard at work on the USACE Honolulu District’s maintenance dredging project at Honolulu Harbor, located on the southern coast of Oahu. Honolulu Harbor is the principal seaport of the state of Hawaii, and this project will ensure that commercial and recreational vessels can navigate the waterway, which is vital for the state’s economy. The scope of work for Healy Tibbitts Builders includes maintenance dredging as well as upland processing, transportation and disposal. The upland portion of the work presented the opportunity to partner with our colleagues at Kiewit. Healy Tibbitts is also coordinating with the State of Hawaii DOT – Harbors Division, another long-term client of theirs, on this project. Work is slated to be completed next month.

Our focus on safety is an integral part of our culture at Weeks Marine. Daily stretch and flex exercises and the use of personal protective equipment are just two – of several – examples of how we ensure the physical wellbeing of our employees. We also recognize that it’s just as important to safeguard what’s “under the hat” for our employees and understand that mental wellbeing and physical health go hand-in-hand, which is why we encourage our employees to use the resources available to them through our Under the Hat program. Under the Hat is a one-stop resource for our employees and their families to quickly access confidential mental health support. It also serves as a way to educate employees on understanding mental health, identifying warning signs, and promoting the use of available resources to support mental health. If you are a Weeks Marine employee in need of assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact your manager or HR business partner to learn more about the resources available to you. Be well, stay safe, and remember that our organization’s most important asset is our people. #WorldMentalHealthDay

Weeks Marine is committed to making a positive impact in the communities in which we live and work. Recently, members of the Weeks Marine Construction team donated their time to help a local NJ veteran whose home was in need of critical repairs. Team members spent the day installing flooring and molding, and grouting tile. “Each one of us worked hard and it was a great experience giving back” remarked Tracy Rusignuolo, Administrative Assistant at our Greenville Yard located in Jersey City, NJ. Many thanks to the team for their hard work and support of this important cause. ICYMI: The Gateway Development Commission shared the video below of the work Weeks Marine is performing on the Hudson River Ground Stabilization Project. Check it out!
Get a front row look at the Hudson Tunnel Project's floating construction barges! Before tunneling can begin, we first need to stabilize the riverbed. Here you can see construction on the test cofferdam that will ensure the site is ready for ground improvement, plus an acoustic corer collecting data on obstructions 50 feet below the riverbed.
