About us
Weld Like A Girl is an empowerment project for girls and women, using welding and creativity to boost self-esteem and whole-person wellness. We provide a safe space to explore the mysterious world of welding and cutting hot metal, understanding that this world may be completely foreign and many will need some guidance navigating. We might show up in your neighborhood, at the local college or university, or even in the parking lot at your middle school. The whole point is to make empowerment accessible. If you think you cannot do something then you try it and it turns out you actually CAN do it, just imagine all of the things you CAN do next!

So impressed with AstroCamp 2.1 campers in metalsmithing class. 😎 Look at these AMAZING #solarsystem sculptures with moving planets! These young builders heated & bent copper in a forge, cut various ferrous & nonferrous metals with a plasmacutter & shear, welded steel & stainless steel, brazed copper to steel and tin… all to create these amazing tabletop masterpieces. What an out-of-this-world two weeks! Astrocamp 2.2 is currently underway and campers are making incredible progress! While we heat, hammer and cut, we discuss the #planets #metalsmithing #songsaboutthesun #nasa and a whole bunch of other cool things. NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration is, of course, our go-to for official information re the size, color and distance between planets.
