Our latest Arclight interview with Janet is live! Janet completed our Intensive Welding Training Program in November 2018 and is a MIG Welder for a metal components fabrication company in Southwest Michigan. Below is an excerpt from the interview: “What do you like most about being a welder?” “I enjoy welding consistently, and I also really enjoy being left alone for most of the day. I have my own routine, I don't have to be hovered over, and it's a more relaxed work environment. I can work with other people, and I can work as a team when I need to, but for the most part, it's just me doing my own thing; I work, listen to music all day, and stay in my own little bubble, and that's just how I personally like to work. At the same time, there is still a lot of social interaction. I'm one of the people that gets to train other welders a lot, and I also enjoy being able to do that. Gabriela and her husband own a welding business in Metro Detroit. She completed our Week-Long Intensive Welding Training Program in July 2024 to personally gain the skill of welding to help grow their business, which they recently expanded to a larger facility! #womenwhoweld #womenwhowelddetroit #womenwhoweldeverywhere

This past Saturday we held another sold out, Single-Day Introductory Workshop in which participants (including several who came from Cleveland, Youngstown, and Virginia!) learned how to gas metal arc weld and operate a multi-process Lincoln Electric welder!!! #womenwhoweld #womenwhowelddetroit #womenwhoweldeverywhere

A week goes by fast when learning how to gas metal arc weld all joints in all positions! Yesterday, we concluded our latest Week-Long Intensive Welding Training Class in which 8 participants are now ready to enter the welding or metalworking industries in a new or improved capacity!
