Wellmore Behavioral Health promotes lifetime wellness through essential and innovative treatment and support.
About us
Wellmore was formed with a bold and ambitious plan to combine the resources of two strong non-profits with deep community roots and create an innovative, lifespan-oriented community behavioral health model, which will radically improve our capabilities to meet community needs. Wellmore serves its client to provide wellness for a lifetime. Wellmore, Inc. was founded on October 1, 2011 through the initiation of a proactive affiliation of Wellpath, Inc. and Morris Foundation, Inc. The alignment of programs and services will be completed in 2012. Wellpath began in 1951 as the Child Guidance Clinic of Greater Waterbury, a local program serving less than 100 children a year. It grew into a regional provider of comprehensive and integrated behavioral health services for children and families. Morris Foundation began in 1968 as a halfway house for male alcoholics and was named for the first benefactor, Morris Rosenblum. It expanded to include treatment services for alcohol, other drug addiction and mental illness in men, women and adolescents. Our new organization, Wellmore Behavioral Health, serves a 49-town region spanning from Greater Waterbury to the lower Naugatuck Valley and northwest Connecticut and has nearly 300 employees at 12 sites. Wellmore is expected to serve more than 15,000 clients on an annual basis, including children, adolescents, adults and entire families.

We recently celebrated the 25th work anniversary of Gary M. Steck, our CEO. When Gary arrived in 1999 we were a small outpatient clinic known as the Child Guidance Clinic of Greater Waterbury. Fast forward 25 years and now Wellmore is a regional lifespan provider of a comprehensive continuum of child/adolescent and adult recovery services caring for about 9,000 people each year. We operate 10 sites throughout northwestern Connecticut with a staff of over 320. We recently opened Connecticut’s first Urgent Crisis Center for Youth and developed a new Strategic Plan that will guide the organization for years to come. Many of our staff and Board, including one of our most beloved members pictured below, Cricket the Therapy Dog, honored Gary during our Staff Appreciation Food Truck event. #EmployeeAppreciation #WorkAnniversary #TherapyDog #UrgentCrisisCenter #WellmoreUCC #StaffAppreciation

Our Home Based Division has carried on the tradition of participating in the yearly “Minute to Win It” event. Each year at the end of the summer or early fall the Home Based Division gathers to crown a champion. Teams of two engage in activities that a supervisor has developed and attempt to complete the task in as fast as possible. The teams that complete the activities the fastest move on to the semi final and ultimately the final. Home Based Programs: IICAPS, FFT, MST-BSF, Child First, Fatherhood & Home Based Admin all participated. This years winners were Ashleigh Fusco, IICAPS Clinician and Monique Savoia, IICAPS Intern. #StaffAppreciation #StaffEvent #StaffWellness

Wellmore Behavioral Health reposted this
After another fantastic in-person quarterly Team meeting in Southington, CT, 8 of our Government Bankers from Webster Bank volunteered at Wellmore Behavioral Health in Waterbury, CT. We spent today cleaning and painting several of Wellmore’s Administrative and Client Office Spaces. They are a great team of caring people providing needed, specialized services in the community. It was very rewarding to help make their office space more welcoming for all.
