Our Wesley volunteers are such a blessing! Our August volunteer spotlight is Judy Pelton, who has volunteered at Wesley Medical Center for seven years. Judy often works in HR and also in the "Children Are Special" program, where volunteers sew pillows for our littlest patients. Judy says it's the people she interacts with that get her out of the house and into the hospital to assist. Judy, thank you for your service to Wesley, our patients, the staff and the community!

Wesley Healthcare's Trauma Services team recently conducted a training workshop for Stop the Bleed with USD 259's Safety and Environmental Services. "Stop the Bleed is a quick and easy program for Wesley Trauma Services to get out and teach the community about hemorrhage control and techniques," said Brendan McGreevy, Injury Prevention/Outreach director (pictured). "In today's setting of mass casualty incidents and everyday accidental injuries — whether at the workplace or home — this training empowers people to feel comfortable in stepping in and helping." Interested in hosting a Stop the Bleed workshop at your organization? Email McGreevy at brendan.mcgreevy@wesleymc.com for more information. #carelikefamily #weshowup

The exemplary service and selflessness of each of this year's Awards of Distinction winners challenges and inspires us all to live and preserve our company’s mission of caring for and improving human life. This week we spotlight Innovators Award winner Charles "CJ" Wilson, Pharmacy Specialist. Here is an excerpt from his nomination: "Pharmacy Specialist Charles CJ Wilson Jr. has always been passionate in creating value for both Wesley and the patients he serves and has dedicated himself to meeting patient needs in unique and creative ways. "In order to ensure his department, SICU, had the knowledge needed to help better serve our patients, he began hosting monthly education courses for the nursing team. The knowledge CJ brings to this team is of such value, the invitation has been extended to physicians, residents, APPs and students of different fields. "CJ’s dedication to his team and his patients is truly admirable. He is a valuable resource to the SICU team and even makes himself available after he has left for the day. CJ’s unwavering commitment to excellence, his visionary approach to problem-solving, and his ability to turn ideas into reality sets him apart as a leader in our organization."
