Meet Shedifa Treasure, Care Manager in our WJCS Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC), who goes above and beyond in all that she does! With a masters in #socialwork, she began her career at WJCS interning for the #MtVernon Clinic. She then joined the CCBHC Team as a Care Manager and was promoted to Coordinator of Integrative Services for our 4 WJCS CCBHC Clinics. Shedifa is the essence of what it means to be a social worker—working hand in hand with others in the community and providing support, compassion, advocacy, and linkage to resources for her clients. We are proud to celebrate #NationalSocialWorkMonth by featuring some of our WJCS #socialworkers! Meet Ryann Fraser, WJCS Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant at the WJCS Early Step Forward & ParentChild+ programs. Ryann Fraser has consistently demonstrated exceptional social work skills by teaming up with teachers, childcare providers, and parents, and has a special talent for her social-emotional lessons to young children. Ryann provides consultation to parents and teachers faced with a wide variety of challenges by guiding them to recognize and meet the child’s underlying needs while focusing on and growing the child’s strengths using creative visuals and games. #Nonprofit leaders from across #Westchester gathered at “Inside the Nonprofit Sector: Strengthening Westchester’s Health & Economy” hosted by Nonprofit Westchester to discuss the state of the sector. While the data presented showed the extensive impact of #WestchesterNonprofits in providing a wide range of critical services and jobs for tens of thousands of county residents, leaders also discussed the unprecedented threats to funding and services as a result of recent and proposed federal actions. WJCS Director of Engagement and Culture Stephan Spilkowitz spoke with Jade Nash from News 12 Westchester about the need for nonprofits to join together in advocacy efforts with elected officials at all levels given the potential cuts to critical programs such as Medicaid, SNAP, and Social Security.
