Today was a landmark day for The Arc Westchester as we hosted a Construction Kick-Off event at The Ann Manzi Center in Mount Kisco, NY. 🏗 This multi-generational day services site sits on four acres of beautiful green space. In 2018 we completed Phase I of our modifications to the site, which was a redesign of the center's main level common area. 🏢 This year we look ahead and begin work on Phases II - IV, which includes optimizing the outdoor space surrounding the building. This renovation will ensure that program participants, including those with limited mobility, will be able to enjoy outdoor programming. 🌳 We want to thank all of the staff and board members who attended, as well as dignitaries: 🔵 Michael Cindrich, Mayor of Mount Kisco 🟢 Karen Schlemier, Mount Kisco Trustee 🟠 Erika Pierce, Westchester County Legislator A special thanks to Murphy Brothers Contracting, and Architect Ian Mueller of IKMueller Architecture PLLC. Stay tuned for additional highlights, quotes, and information coming to our website soon! 🖥

Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the US in 1865—a time for reflection and celebration. As we honor this day, let's deepen our connections and continue working toward a future of unity, respect, and appreciation. We celebrate the resilience of Black Americans who've tirelessly pursued equality. Let's embrace the promise and commitment to improving our world. 📅 Reminder: The Arc Westchester’s offices and day services will be closed on Wednesday, June 19th. #Juneteenth #Equality

Last week, in honor of our organization's 75th anniversary, we participated in The Arc New York's Week of Service. 🌟 You may have seen the highlights from our trip to 914Cares, where we assembled vital hygiene packages. Later in the week, our groups lent a helping hand at Don Bosco Food Pantry and GiGi's Playhouse Inc.- Down Syndrome Achievement Centers Westchester. 🙌 At Don Bosco, they directly delivered essential supplies and food items to those in need, ensuring those in our community most at risk did not go hungry. 🚚 At Gigi's Playhouse, the guys rolled up their sleeves and helped create a clean and safe play area for all the little ones to enjoy! 🧹 The week was truly opportunity for all of us at The Arc Westchester to reflect on our role in creating a compassionate and proactive community. ♥ #ArcWestchester / #WeekOfService / #CommunityFirst / #DevelopmentalDisabilities / #WestchesterCounty
