Every act of conservation matters.
About us
For 30 years, WHC has been promoting and certifying ecological stewardship action on corporate lands through partnerships and education. Since only 10-15% of the world’s land surface is protected, private lands provide an essential opportunity for restoring and protecting biodiversity. As the only international conservation NGO focused exclusively on the private sector, WHC provides a framework for voluntary conservation action on a wide variety of corporate lands. WHC’s corporate members represent some of the leading national and multinational corporations seeking to support sustainable ecosystems and the communities that surround them. These efforts have resulted in more than 1,000 certified programs across 48 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and 29 countries. Our own Margaret O'Gorman and Frank Werner are guest editing an upcoming Amplify journal on how integrated sustainability programs offer greater efficiencies and impact for nature. Abstracts due Oct. 23.
📣 Call for Papers! Accepting abstracts for consideration for an upcoming Amplify journal with Guest Editors Margaret O'Gorman and Frank Werner of the Wildlife Habitat Council and the World Environment Center. The private sector's sustainability concerns — climate resilience, water stewardship, biodiversity, circularity, environmental equity, Indigenous rights, and STEM education — are often managed in silos with separate budgets and resources. Yet, these sustainability concerns intersect, offering opportunities for greater efficiencies, synergies, and impact! 👉 We invite articles that explore these intersections, showcasing strategies, best practices, and innovative approaches to developing a comprehensive and integrated sustainability program. For submission details and to send an abstract, please visit https://lnkd.in/evuF8a74 #callforpapers #sustainability #corporateresponsibility #biodiversity #climateresilience #circularity #waterstewardship #STEM #indigenousrights #environmentalequity #amplify #publishing Arthur D.
