It's 🦇 spooky season 🕷️ ! On Thursday, October 31st at 11am PT / 2pm ET, Pavilion is hosting an all-star panel of public procurement and business leaders on 𝐌𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 & 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬! Myth: Public entities can only use contracts from national and regional cooperatives when using cooperative purchasing. Fact: Public agencies can also buy through state and local contracts — even across state lines — provided they meet compliance requirements. Hear from Maria Agrusa at County of Orange (Procurement), Robert Gleason at Broward County Government, Megan deGrood from City of Thornton, Colorado, Patrick Rochon at ACCO Engineered Systems, and Nikhil Reddy at Kaizen Labs about how and why public entities are increasingly choosing to leverage state and local contracts, how they complete their due diligence, considerations in awarding (or being awarded) this type of contract, and what these contracts mean for suppliers. Whether you're a public servant who uses - or is interested in using - state and local contracts or a supplier who serves the state, local, and education sector, I invite you to join us! Introducing the Cost to Procure Calculator, our new free tool developed with National Cooperative Procurement Partners to help public sector buyers estimate the costs of running a new solicitation versus leveraging a cooperative contract. This tool uses data from NCPP's RFP Tracking Project, which collected solicitation cost data from nearly 40 public entities, to estimate the key salary costs associated with running a new solicitation. By understanding these costs, buyers can make more informed procurement decisions, streamline processes, and better manage taxpayer resources.
