Promoting the advancement of women and girls in our community.
About us
The Women’s Fund for the Fox Valley Region, Inc. is a nonprofit organization creating positive social change in Northeast Wisconsin by investing in the unique needs and talents of local women and girls. The Women’s Fund is creating a culture of philanthropy by pooling together gifts both large and small from a broad base of donors to support our community grants, advocacy, and education work. Women, men, and organizations from across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors are valued partners in our work. The Women’s Fund empowers women and girls in the Fox Valley region. By engaging in philanthropic activity and leveraging community collaboration, we envision a community where women and girls: • Live in safety. • Meet their basic needs for living, including food, shelter, and access to health care. • Have the knowledge, opportunity, and self-determination to be economically secure. • Have opportunities to pursue their dreams and achieve their potential. • Learn about and recognize the value of philanthropy and nonprofit leadership.

Today the Women's Fund Brighter Female Futures (B.F.F.) group were a working menstruation station, spending the afternoon packing period products for menstruators in NE Wisconsin through The Monthlies Project! The B.F.F.s are the Women's Fund's group of young professionals with a passion for the advancement of women and girls. By being a B.F.F., they can see the direct impact of the Women's Fund through volunteering, educational events, networking, and more! If you or someone you know is interested in being a B.F.F., you can learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gNQtmETj

Women's Fund for the Fox Valley Region reposted this
Today is #MomsEqualPayDay! August 7 is Moms’ Equal Pay Day when we call out the persistent wage gap experienced by mothers in the workplace. Moms working full-time, year-round are paid 71 cents and all earners (including part-time and seasonal) are paid 63 cents for every dollar paid to dads. Moms also suffer when they are on maternity leave as most are not only unpaid during this time, but also losing 401K contributions which leads to less money when it comes to retirement. Lack of affordable and accessible child care is another huge factor as a study among parents done by The Century Foundation found that 21% of moms who stay at home with their children full-time said they turned down job opportunities because of the lack of child care.
