As our CEO Sarah Haacke Byrd recently shared, "In the coming days and weeks, each of you will need to tap into your deepest reservoirs of courage. The good news is that we are not doing this work alone." The work must and will continue. But first, focus on your wellbeing. 1. Women Moving Millions is a dynamic community catalyzing resources to power the movement for gender equality.
About us
Women Moving Millions is a global community of individual philanthropists who have each made a minimum $1 million commitment to advance gender equality. To date, WMM members have collectively committed nearly $1 billion to organizations and initiatives serving women and girls worldwide. By supporting members to leverage their collective voice, influence, and resources, and by creating opportunities to amplify their impact, WMM pursues its mission to catalyze unprecedented resources to build a gender equal world. We do this not just because we believe in gender equality, but because it’s a smarter, more effective way to foster a better future for all.

As we stand on the precipice of a pivotal election that will shape the future for women and families across the nation, our CEO, Sarah Haacke Byrd, shares her thoughts on our role during this consequential moment. "No matter who wins on Tuesday, the work must and will continue... Together, we can forge a path toward a brighter, more equitable future. Let us stand firm in our commitment to democracy, for ourselves, and for future generations. Let us do it together because, as this community has demonstrated from day one, we are more powerful together." https://lnkd.in/gjJUhFjj

Did you know Women Moving Millions has expanded the path to membership? The $1M commitment that an individual makes to join WMM now goes beyond traditional philanthropy, allowing members to also drive change by supporting 501(c)(4) advocacy efforts or investing in women-led business ventures that uplift women and girls. We’re proud to broaden our tent, recognizing that women are leading the way in shifting capital equitably across philanthropy, advocacy, and investment - and in doing so, creating a more just future for all. Looking back on this year’s first-ever in-person #GivetoWomenandGirlsDay at the New-York Historical Society, we are filled with pride and gratitude. As our CEO Sarah Haacke Byrd so eloquently shared, "At the heart of every challenge is a woman who has a solution." Sarah’s words resonated deeply during her panel, and we're grateful to fellow panelists Jacqueline Ackerman, Maheen Kaleem, and Noorain Khan for their insightful discussion on leveraging data for impact. Hearing from leaders like Maria Torres-Springer, Ana Oliveira, Seema Hingorani, and Teresa C. Younger was inspiring, and honoring Valerie Jarrett of the Obama Foundation was a true highlight. As anchor partners of this initiative for the third year running, we are especially proud of WMM Member Marti Speranza Wong of Amplify Her Foundation for stepping into a leadership role, co-hosting the fabulous day alongside the Women’s Philanthropy Institute.

Yesterday, WMM members enjoyed an exclusive tour of the The Metropolitan Museum of Art, guided by the talented Russian-American photographer Anastasia Samoylova. She walked us through her inspiring exhibition with Walker Evans, showcasing stunning photographs and paintings that capture Florida's complexity and contradictions. It was an unforgettable and enriching experience! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined, and a special thanks to our amazing Board Member Monika Parekh for making this event happen.

We had an incredible time this week in San Francisco co-hosting an inspiring gathering with our friends from Next Legacy Partners, Forward Global, Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund - SV2, and the Global Philanthropy Forum! It was truly special to bring together like-minded individuals working on urgent issues affecting women and girls, each from different angles. The energy in the room reflected our shared commitment to making the world a better place. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a memorable evening of connection, collaboration, and impactful conversation!
