What a night… Thank you to everyone who came last night to our Work In Football event in Cardiff. I am so extremely proud of the amazing group of people who helped me put the event on including the brilliant Patryk Białowąs. Thank you to our guest speakers , Sarah Early-Nightingale , Lloyd Griffin , Matthew Jenkins & Liam Donovan, you were all terrific. Over the past 7 months I forced myself to do things outside my comfort zone, public speaking is one of those things. My advice to anyone would be to do the same. It’s terrrifying and that inner voice will tell you to avoid doing things that you aren’t used to doing or things that seem scary but honestly it’s how you can grow as a person. Finally , thank you to our event partners The Player Care Group & Beyond the Pitch ! Once again, thank you to everyone who came last night! Onto the next 😀

Was at the Work In Football event in Cardiff last night and it was a really insightful and inspiring night! Firstly hats off to James Cox to organising the event, this is something that takes a massive effort and I think you're smashing it with the community and bringing it to life! It was also great to hear the experiences, outlooks and advise from the panels. Sarah Early-Nightingale, Lloyd Griffin, Liam Donovan and Matthew Jenkins. All your talks resonated with me and I feel like I picked up something from each of you and I'm sure you inspired everyone in that room! As for other people I met on the night, it was an absolute pleasure and I wish you all the best and look forward to connecting/collaborating! In terms of some personal reflection. Cardiff is a great city and I'm glad I made the journey down. There were some small moments of feeling overwhelmed but the little victories from getting myself out of my comfort zone pushed me through! Hopefully each event gets easier and I look forward to continuing to meet great people, inspire and be inspired and most importantly learn!

What a fantastic evening in Cardiff with Work In Football. Huge thanks to James Cox & Co for organising this event and allowing me to meet so many like-minded individuals. It was great to hear from some professionals in the football industry and gain some useful insights. My 3 biggest takeaways from the evening: 1. Building relationships and having interpersonal skills is the most important thing in any role within football 2. Experience is key. University degrees are not the be-all end-all for most clubs. 3. Everyone’s journey is different. Meeting so many people from different backgrounds and at different stages of life at the event taught me that there is not just one path to working in football.
