We are thrilled to spotlight our ongoing partnership with Volunteers of Legal Service - VOLS. VOLS plays a vital role in helping New Yorkers access justice. They provide free civil legal services to New Yorkers with limited access to resources, so our neighbors receive the support needed to succeed. WorkHaven supports the VOLS mission through our comprehensive WorkHaven360 organizational assessment, team coaching, and well-being and DEIB retreats. In their last fiscal year, VOLS provided free civil legal services benefiting over 6,400 New Yorkers. They partnered with 150 community organizations and pro bono volunteers from 80 law firms and corporations. Through these efforts, VOLS addressed critical challenges for immigrant youth, older adults, small business owners, individuals seeking public benefits, incarcerated mothers, children, and families. Last year, VOLS expanded their Unemployed Workers Project into the broader Benefits Law Project, further enhancing their capacity to assist New Yorkers with accessing essential public benefits. VOLS' impact is also evident in their tailored services and initiatives. The VOLS Senior Law Project, for instance, makes visits to homebound clients, drafting vital life-planning documents, while the VOLS Immigration Project provides crucial support to immigrant youth, including recent arrivals to New York City.
