And just like that, it's September. A new month means another opportunity to help protect the ocean during our 12 Months of Action. This month, in partnership with High Seas Alliance, we're asking you to support the High Seas Treaty ratification. We need nations of the world to follow through on their promises, ratify the Treaty, and safeguard marine life in areas beyond national jurisdiction. Take action today (It takes 30 seconds!) and visit https://buff.ly/3z5MhCw

It’s #WorldKrillDay! 🦐 DYK? Antarctic #krill act as a giant conveyor belt, constantly moving carbon down from the water’s surface by eating carbon-capturing algae, then dropping carbon-filled poop at the bottom of the ocean. Krill are an essential species in the Southern Ocean. Right now krill and their predators are threatened by concentrated fishing and global heating, particularly in the Antarctic Peninsula. Keeping them safe and healthy is critical. Today we celebrate this tiny but mighty crustacean! #ProtectAntarctica #Antarctica #MPAs

Massive killer whale in the blue 🖤🤍🥶 | the details on this absolute tank of a male orca are incredible! Clear water & the sunny day enable you to perfectly see all the marks, scratches & scars that he has obtained during his life in the deep blue. He has definitely seen some things during his life exploring Baja and beyond! 🎥: @panchita_oh | shot on @djiglobal

Words and video by @joshglucksteinartist It's so exciting to be adding different animals to my coral reef. The Bluespotted Ray is always a great spot on a dive, often hiding in little caves, its luminous blue spots glow underwater. He'll be dropping a new process video every week so you can watch as the piece comes to life. 📦♻️🪸🐠🐙🐟
