Today marks one-year since the October 7 attacks in Israel — a day that changed so many lives and continues to shape the region. As we reflect on the immense loss and ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza, we are reminded of the complexity and heartbreak that remain. We know many of you care deeply about what's happening in Israel and Gaza, even engaging with us here to ask insightful questions and express your concerns. As we continue to stand with all who suffer, we invite you to reflect with us on the humanitarian principles that guide our response: humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence. Here are 5 ways we can embrace these values in response to the ongoing crisis in Israel and Gaza. Read more at the link: https://lnkd.in/g33rdjpX #gaza #israelgaza #humanitarianprinciples

As the crisis deepens in the Middle East, like us, you’re probably heartbroken by what’s unfolding. Approximately 3 million people across Israel, Gaza and now Lebanon have been forced to flee their homes as a result of the escalating violence. As we simultaneously grapple through the devastation of Hurricane Helene and our anxieties around the U.S. election, it can all feel overwhelming. At World Relief, boldly engaging with the world’s greatest crises is part of our DNA. With your support, we have stepped into crises for 80 years and continue to do so. As World Relief’s Senior Vice President of International Programs, Lanre Williams-Ayedun puts it — that’s what we’re here for. Will you join us? When we combine our voices and influence for good, the country takes notice! On Tuesday, @NPR News Now covered our open letter to the presidential candidates on the importance of upholding Biblical values in immigration policy. Our statement is gaining national attention! A large part of this is because of YOU. You decided to use your voice to advocate for people in vulnerable situations and that makes a difference. Along with influential Evangelical pastors and leaders from all 50 states, we now have over 600 signatures from across the nation. It’s not too late to add your name! 🖊️ Comment 'Sign' and we'll DM you with the link.

Did you know that 39% of the world’s refugees are hosted in just 5 countries? Many refugees first seek safety in neighboring or nearby countries. This can create disproportionate strain on certain regions already facing or at risk of fragility. Countries like the U.S. can play an important role in responding to global displacement by welcoming refugees who need safe places to rebuild. Together, we can all help refugees find safety and a flourishing future. 💙 Learn more about how you can support refugees at the link: https://bit.ly/3BtP8pF #StandWithRefugees

As communities across the southeastern U.S. begin the long road to recovery from hurricane Helene, we stand with them in solidarity and prayer. World Relief staff and program participants have suffered damage to their homes and are without power and cell service, including at our World Relief Upstate SC office serving Greenville and Spartanburg counties. Despite being personally impacted by the storm, our staff in South Carolina are currently delivering food packets, assessing damage and meeting the immediate needs of their refugee and immigrant neighbors, even as they continue their work of welcoming refugees whose flights are scheduled to arrive today. Will you join us in praying for them and all communities impacted by this disaster? To give to the response efforts of our team in South Carolina, visit the link: https://lnkd.in/gwtg-Br3
