Caleb and Suz Smagacz (Uganda) held a training on "Helping Without Hurting in Africa" based on the principles of "When Helping Hurts." Caleb writes: When one of our staff members heard the seminar title, they asked, “Wow! Is it really possible to do what we do without hurting?” They wondered if we could truly support people in deep poverty without experiencing the emotional toll that often accompanies our work. Initially, they thought the training would address their personal challenges and ease their own pain, not realizing it was actually about ensuring that our work doesn’t unintentionally harm those we seek to help. The truth is that everyone who does carries immense emotional burdens and there isn’t a lot that we can do to make it go away. God has blessed us with incredible, gifted, and passionate ministry partners in the staff and mentors of Hope Alive! These wonderful people are a true gift, but with any gift come responsibilities—to manage, care, lead, support, train, and be present in many ways. Our staff face financial difficulties, health concerns, emotional exhaustion, and overwhelming requests from the communities they serve. We do our best to support one another, but sometimes the needs are simply…well, overwhelming. Learn more: WorldVenture.com/Smagacz #WorldVenture #Prayer

"The CPE fun continued with the arrival of a unique team of three on September 18. Jonathan, Jose, and Rich formed a team representing Little Flock Baptist Church in Kentucky, The Vine Fellowship in Texas, and Desert Hills Bible Church in Arizona. Trinity Baptist Church and Palaw Gospel Church teamed up to host the team focusing on their outreaches in Pasalan, Sojoton and Buhang (Trinity) and Ilaya and Bahay (Palaw), all located in Barangay Caliling in the municipality of Cauayan in the province of Negros Occidental. Three groups systematically conducted house-to-house evangelism in each location on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, all day on Monday and Tuesday, then transitioned to follow-up appointments Wednesday through Friday. At the end of the week, groups attended 71 combined appointments. 208 people professed faith, and 120 people completed the Bible study booklet during follow-up!" - The Jeromes (Philippines) Learn more: WorldVenture.com/DKJerome

Leo Calva started teaching an online class at Rio Grande Bible College about the Pauline epistles at the Master level. "I have seven students: Two Venezuelan, two Nicaraguan, two Mexican, and one Chilean. This online class aligns with our purpose of influencing the Latin world with the Gospel. Also, in McMinnville, the class on preaching from the narrative with the seven students has been great; there is a saying that no one enjoys the sermon more than the preacher. It is a reality; when a preacher or teacher prepares the class, the joy of embedding oneself in the Word of God produces great pleasure. We thank all who, along the way of our travels, have hosted us, taken us out to eat, and encouraged us as we share our story of ministry and family."
