Blue Ridge Public Radio (BPR) is doing incredible work in a very challenging time. I'm not sure people truly understand the impact Hurricane Helene has had on Western North Carolina but it is becoming more clear every hour as these harrowing stories are told. Shannan Bowen has also done a tremendous job gathering resources across the state to help western NC newsrooms and serve the communities who have been devastated by the storm. It will take years to recover. WUNC as well as many other news organizations are doing what they can to help. BPR has information on their website how you can help.
