As part of our “Female Founders to Watch” series, we are excited to feature Alexa Jones, CEO and Founder of TheraB Medical Inc. TheraB Medical's mission is to revolutionize neonatal care with its innovative home phototherapy device (the Snuglit) for newborns with infant jaundice. TheraB has completed over 300 "voice of customer interviews" to inform product design - working with physicians at Stanford Hospital, Children's Hospital of Orange County, Henry Ford Health System, University Hospitals (Cleveland), and Parkview Health. Alexa has established a strategic partnership with Cortex Design for product development and early manufacturing, and is on track to submit their 510(k) to the FDA in early 2025. Alexa notes that she is excited to see the SnugLit product in the hands of health system physicians and nurses in 2025. To date, TheraB has raised over $3M in funding and was awarded a grant from the Pennsylvania Pediatric Device Consortia to fund early product development efforts. Dr. David Stevenson, a renowned neonatologist and esteemed professor at Stanford University, has joined TheraB as a clinical advisor to TheraB's Advisory Board. Alexa’s words of advice to founders: "Perseverance is one of the most important traits a founder can have. No one cares more than you about your "baby" than the person who started it and is personally committed to making it a success. As you grow, learn how to embrace setbacks and learn from them to improve yourself and your business as you continue pushing forward to another day."
