Within a different thread, I was asked to predict “what’s next” for Zero Trust. This is my personal/private opinion only, and *not* in any way DoD’s official position or statement. This is how I responded which I wanted to share. I’d love to see what others predict for ZT too! “ My 10-yr predictions are that ZT permeates the IT landscape as the default mandatory cybersecurity framework and North Star, but also equally implemented and accepted within OT, IoT and SCADA. It will permeate infrastructures of Intel, DoD and Fed/Civ. It will permeate the vendor community, DIB and businesses. I see many ZTaaS opportunities. I see M&A activities spiking up specific to achieving more mass and optimizations to integrate complementary ZT capabilities for companies to deliver more % of a ZT solution to customers. I see this, all of this, extending on a Global basis, Public and Private sectors, Military and Civilian, across 100+ countries large and small. I see Cloud Service Providers (CSP’s) providing default ZT foundations to build upon, and tooling, to all customers augmented by AI visibility and analytics. Think of it this way: This is an impulse moment in cybersecurity akin to the moment the Internet browser was born and changed everything, ~1992, and everything is now being questioned to include adopting ZT or remaining vulnerable standing in place. ”
