So great to be a part of this Mobile Me&You conference again, thank you to everyone for having me and to the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University for being such great hosts! In my panel I got asked what might be the future of media in 5 to 10 years. It's great to think about the future, and there are so many possible futures, but this question always makes me think inward. I always think about what would I have thought five years ago at this time. It was almost exactly five years ago when I was able to attend this conference through an OpenNews scholarship and get access to people, ideas and opportunities that I hadn't yet thought of. In those five years I've done a lot of things: I've been a Reynolds Journalism Institute fellow, an Online News Association Start Up Alley company, an Online Journalism Awards finalist, a trainer of my tool to multiple newsrooms, a presenter at conferences across the country and a speaker at the same first conference I ever attended. A lot can happen in five years, but it starts by taking a first step.

It was great to finally see the #MobileMeYou mobile journalism conference come to the Newhouse School, Syracuse University. After a year of planning, we brought an impressive slate of journalism innovators to the Herg auditorium as well as a Zoom webinar. Thanks Gary Kebbel, Brant Houston, Mark Lodato, and Brad Horn for going along with my zany idea of moving the conference here this year. And thanks especially to fellow speakers, including my friends / fellow innovators 👨🏽🏫 Robert Hernandez, David Cohn, Ben Kreimer, Tamar Charney, Jason Webb, Anthony Adornato and even former online masters student Adam Harder for making the trek up here and/or giving up your weekened for this. I hope it was as fun for you as it was for me. The students who attended tell me they got a lot out of it. Go Orange, and go #Journalisminnovation!
