York has more ESOPs per capita than any other county in the nation and it’s, in part, due to events like Economic Insights and the YCEA” - kevin mcphillips, Executive Director of Pennsylvania Center for Employee Ownership shared at our first breakfast of 2025. This morning, Kevin and Steve Shank, President and CEO of Flinchbaugh Engineering, Inc. discussed the “Shared Success” of Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOPs) businesses. Three key takeaways about ESOPs: -Workers between ages 28-34 had 33% higher median income than their peers at other companies. -Businesses see an average of 8-12% increase in productivity. -Companies increase sales by about 2% per year.
