Fantastic day at Kallar Lodge, specialist dementia care home exploring how care technology installed in June is making a difference. Our Change Consultants Jemma Mindham and Sarah Mills have been working with staff, managers, residents and families spoke with staff, and we’re already seeing simple devices like Alexas are significantly enhancing the wellbeing of residents. Sensor mats and enuresis sensors are enabling proactive responses and influencing preventative activities. One staff member told us, "The technology is so simple. I thought I was too old for new things but it's not complicated; you can learn it in the blink of an eye!" The impact on residents and their families over the past 6 weeks has been very encouraging. One family member said, "The tech available to mum means she can call me without having to think of numbers. She taps my name, and she's connected to me instantly.
