We are excited to announce the official launch of the Center for Wealth Equity (CWE) at the #LivingCitiesCollectiveAction conference! 🎉 The CWE is designed to be a cornerstone in our mission to close racial wealth gaps, leveraging the collective power of philanthropy, financial institutions, and local governments. Its purpose is to transform siloed knowledge into actionable insights and practical tools that drive systemic change in racial wealth equity. During an insightful panel with Dr. Ahmed Whitt of Living Cities, Tawa Jogunosimi Mitchell, and Ryan K. Priester of the MacArthur Foundation, as well as Marcq Sung of the McKnight Foundation, they discussed how the CWE is preparing communities for federal funding opportunities, investing in community capacity building, and supporting impactful projects like clean energy and job creation. The MacArthur Foundation’s decade-long Chicago commitment was highlighted as a powerful example of what’s possible when equity, inclusivity, and community-led solutions are prioritized. This launch marks an exciting new chapter for Living Cities as we continue to push for an inclusive economy. Let’s keep the momentum going! 📸: Demarris Manns Photography #LivingCities #WealthEquity #RacialEquity #InclusiveEconomy #CollectiveAction #CommunityCapacityBuilding #CWE
