Thank you to the QC Business Journal for highlighting our latest project - a Youth Shelter at our former YWCA location! We are happy to honor a longtime legacy and name it "Alan's House" after former Doris and Victor Day Director, Alan Egly, who was instrumental in helping us create ThePlace2B.

Now that it is settled into its new home, YWCA Quad Cities is preparing to turn its old one on 16th Street and Second Avenue in Rock Island into a shelter for homeless youth. It already has raised three-quarters of the $430,000 needed to remodel the old building which will be designed to house 15 at-risk youth. But donations are needed to get Alan's House -- named for Alan Egly, the late QC community activist and benefactor -- fully ready to receive at-risk youth later this fall.
