We are pleased to share the beginnings of our Knowledge Base! Currently it is focused on Haas Automation, Inc. and FANUC America Corporation CNC machines. We would love to branch out to include Brother USA and HEIDENHAIN North America These are resources we have used on almost every project that were scattered to the wind so we decided to collect it all in one place. Big shout out to Justin Gray of Toolpath for showing me around GitHub and getting me started down this road. We decided on GitHub to encourage people to contribute information they feel is helpful to the cause. James Meyette of Selway Machine Tool Company has also been a tremendous help with this information. As well as Michael Bronson of Methods Machine Tools, Inc. https://lnkd.in/gQy4NHEw

We are very happy to announce we will be in the Universal Robots Booth (#236131) as part of the Lights Out Mfg demonstration at IMTS - International Manufacturing Technology Show! This will be the first system of it's kind and a must see demonstration! LOM will be showing off their new RoboWrench X5. The RW5 acts like a riser under a self centering vise and can open and close through the entire clamping range! The system LOM put together will be cutting 25 unique parts ranging in material size from 1.25" up to 4". Christopher Zappettini programmed and setup 15 of the parts. Tim Paul setup the other 10 parts that had base programming done by Toolpath. This was a huge effort by all parties and the collaboration required was incredible. Massive shout out to the following people Thomas Saur for lending us the HWR Workholding USA vise. Tony Villar was instrumental in getting us SCHUNK USA hydraulic toolholders. Douglas Funfsinn and Joel Carter provided the tooling from Fraisa USA, Inc. which let us absolutely RIP. #imts2024 #imts #automation #cncmachining #zappettiniconsulting #lightsoutmanufacturing #toolpath #fraisa #schunk

Fixture Friday! Been a while since we posted but we are reaching the end of an absolute whirlwind couple months! Taking this opportunity to show off Jonathan Mahon’s work on this project. He has been with us for 3 weeks now and is absolutely crushing it! The dynamic between him and Christopher Zappettini is great. We normally don’t tag team projects but this time it’s worked out really well with Jon designing and programming fixtures and Zap programming the parts. Also need to shout out Hursh Patel he has been a critical piece of the puzzle that’s allowing Jon and Zap for focus on the technical work. Project is an a Haas Automation, Inc. EC400 PC6+1 with SCHUNK USA Vero-S Workholding. We went this direction to allow the operator to not only replace parts on a table but also quickly switch plates and keep going. Big thanks to Tony Villar and Michael Biesk for supporting us on this project. Almost all the tooling is Fraisa and we MUST give a huge shoutout to Joel Carter for working to get us the right solution and absolutely cooking. He is a huge resource for us on just about every project and we all crush together! #haas #schunk #cncmachining #fraisa #zappettiniconsulting #engineering

Check out Christopher Zappettini on Manufacturing Happy Hour!
⚙️ In manufacturing - and in your career in general - it's on YOU to make it happen. ⚙️ Christopher Zappettini has made the comment that to succeed in CNC machining and advance your career, you need to be an aggressive self-advocate. If you want to learn how to use a new piece of equipment, say so. Do it. It's on you to make it happen. Danny Hill Jr. and Nushrat Ahmed have a similar attitude. I was lucky enough to talk to all 3 last week on Manufacturing Happy Hour, and they each made it clear that you need to put in the work, invest your time in learning new things, and know where your skills are valued. It's on you to make it happen. - - - - - What are your thoughts? Comment below. Episode link in the comments. #manufacturinghappyhour #cnc #machinist

We recently got a couple of Matsuuras at my shop so I was tasked with designing and making my first tombstone(s)! Big thanks to James Meyette for the confidence and Christopher Zappettini for his epic MX-330 inspiration posts! And of course SCHUNK - Hand in hand for tomorrow for making these rad KSC mini vises. The faces are 4” wide and the tombstone is 11” tall. With over 50 1/4-20 helicoils and around 25 1/4” dowel pin holes per face, we should be sitting pretty for extra plates + modularity :)
