This week, LNG Canada expects to introduce natural gas to its Kitimat facility for the first time. Once natural gas is received from the Coastal GasLink pipeline and all safety checks are satisfied, a small flare pilot will be activated at our vapour flare tower, followed by low-level flaring that will occur over several weeks prior to more visible flaring. The introduction of natural gas and flaring activities mark a pivotal step in LNG Canada’s safe start-up program as we prepare to ship our first cargoes of made-in-B.C. LNG by the middle of 2025. Significantly reduce emissions and wasted product at tank storage and loading terminals with ZEECO Vapor Recovery Units (VRU). By redirecting tank vapors to a VRU, operators can recover up to 99% of waste gases, resulting in about 1 to 2 liters of recovered product per 1,000 liters loaded. See how ZEECO can design a VRU system that fits your specific process conditions at https://hubs.li/Q02K_myc0
