It’s no question that pet owners are highly committed to their pets, and the health benefits of pets are well-documented. Thank you to the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI) for organizing various sessions last week during #PetWeekonCapitolHill to advocate for policies that strengthen this profound human-animal bond. Colleagues in attendance loved meeting some pets from Pet Night! One highlight of the week was a discussion between our president of U.S. Operations, Ester Banque, and HABRI President, Steven Feldman, on new legislation that would allow HSA or FSA funds to be used for veterinary care or a pet health insurance plan. If passed, this proposed bill could make veterinary care more accessible and help keep families and their pets healthy and happy together. These initiatives equip students and clinicians with the tools and knowledge needed for success in an increasingly globalized industry.
