In 2014, ZogSports realized the need to bring connection, community and play to workplaces, and launched the Zog Corporate Business. We support organizations by increasing morale and collaboration, and enhance the employee experience by creating connections and camaraderie. We offer Field Days/Company events, In-Office Programming, and Private Tournaments. Learn more: www.ZogSports.com/Corporate-Events.aspx or email Bryan@ZogCulture.com ___ The ZogSports Story: After his close call on September 11, 2001, Robert Herzog was inspired to create an organization which brought like-minded people together to have fun, give back and create community. He identified a need among New York's young professionals for better organized sports leagues and more natural social interactions outside of the workplace. Twenty-six teams kicked off ZogSports' 2002 launch, and now ZogSports is the nation's largest social sports community with over 120,000 people playing ever year and every team playing for charity. For a complete listing of our activities, head over to www.ZogSports.com. You can Zog in NYC, NJ, ATL, DC, Chicago, LA, SF and San Jose.

I have not thought about Badminton since 9th grade PE, but the Olympic-level competition is electric. Same goes for indoor volleyball and a dozen other sports that get zero coverage on linear television. While total viewership has stagnated, digital audience's share of Olympic viewership had increased from ~30% in 2012 to >70% in 2020. NBCUniversal finally got its act together in time for Paris and signed partnerships deals with Meta, Overtime, Roblox, Snapchat, YouTube, and TikTok. The shift to social platforms should be a top-of-funnel dream for the long tail of sports organizations and athletes that rarely reach an audience of this size. Social enables more seamless tie-in to the story-lines and athletes that could generate fandom far beyond the Olympic games. I would watch the national volleyball championship if it were served up to me (bad pun intended). I would follow the major athletes and attend a ticketed event in NYC. I may even join a ZogSports league to stay active during the bleak winter months in the Northeast. All of this reinforces fandom to Volleyball - NBC is an after thought. Are these sports organizations set up to remove friction and capture new fans? And on what platform?

Predicting How Corporate Event Culture Increases Retention - ZogCulture & Retensa Research Collaboration At ZogCulture (a leading provider of playful team-building events if I haven't shared already), we've been asked by companies (from 100-100,000 employees) for guidance and best practices around corporate team building events and overall culture for 10+ years. So we finally decided to do research on this. We, ZogCulture, asked Retensa, a global leader in employee retention research, to conduct a joint innovative research study focused on the impact of employee events on employee engagement and staff retention. The research aims to reveal meaningful drivers of employee retention, and the impact of employee events on staff turnover. The research study is live for 3-4 weeks for individuals in employee engagement and event management roles. With targeted and actionable questions related to the future of employee engagement, employers interested in participating can click below. The collaborative effort will provide participating companies with a fully anonymized analysis of survey results, insights into industry best practices, and strategic planning ideas - including talent analytics and team-building resources. https://lnkd.in/etMS7kQ2. It takes 8-10 minutes and, since I designed many of the questions, is pretty interesting and hopefully fun and actionable. Please participate and share with anyone you know in employee engagement and event management roles About ZogCulture ZogCulture partners with employers to address their company culture needs given the rapidly changing modern workplace. By engaging in conversations that address deeper workforce challenges, like how to navigate remote, hybrid and in person teams, ZogCulture aims to demonstrate the ROI of employee events and contribute to improving employee morale and motivation. ZogCulture is a team of seasoned event planners who believe play is a tool to create connections and build community at work. They do this through playful corporate events. We’ve hosted events for hundreds of organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500s, and their most popular events include Field Days, Family Days, Holiday Parties and Sports Events. About Retensa Retensa addresses the social and economic impact of employee turnover for organizations in 59 countries and 21 languages. 7 Fun Team Building Events (5 Different Types!!) / 1,500 Happy Employees / In 5 Days Our ZogCulture team rocks. I’d like to give a huge round of applause to our amazing staff. Over the span of just one week, ZogCulture brought joy to over 1,500 people through 7 events in 5 different styles! We ran a 700-person flag football tournament, a casino boat party, a 200-person dodgeball tournament, a trivia night, and of course a few field days (which we’re most known for!). In five days, we worked with multiple tech companies, a big NYC law firm, a few ad agencies and even one of NYC’s largest hospitals (we brought their staff and loved ones together for a huge family day!). (And this doesn't even include the events for several global tech companies, two large Private Equity firm and other financial services firms the weeks before and after in the form of field days, pickle ball tournaments, in office and virtual activities and events.) I'm so grateful for our incredible staff who make our events as special as they are. Here’s to many more to come! www.zogculture.com #teambuilding, #corporatefieldday, #companyemployeeengagement

How many friends do you have at work now? How many friends did you used to have at work? Was it ever normal for you to connect with co-workers outside the office? This brilliant Korn Ferry Magazine article so articulately describes the troubling trend of lack of connection and friendship at work. While everyone knows that work has permanently changed in some ways, a casualty has been making friends, connection, teamwork and true caring about co-workers (and thus the company!). Please read the article and let me or our ZogCulture (www.zogculture.com) team know if you have any questions or want to discuss https://lnkd.in/eJ3mjVBX #kornferry; #friendsatwork; #teambuilding; #companyfieldday

President @ TeamWork Online | Building Careers in Sports Business

Insightful analysis from McKinsey & Company on how consumers are opting for *accessibility* in their sports participation preferences. Here are 5 examples of *emerging sports* and *sports-adjacent* organizations innovating to meet consumers' demand for accessibility, plus how to follow this trend to build your career 👇 🏓 +159% growth in Pickleball. Volo Sports and ZogSports are some of the many adult leagues now introducing the sport in their offerings. ⛳️ +57% growth in Golf (off course). Topgolf, Blue Jeans Golf and Five Iron Golf are helping golf become a destination venue for corporate events and casual outings. 🎾 +33% for Tennis. WTA and ATP Tour events at tournaments such as the Miami Open and Hard Rock Stadium create all-day festivities that drive engagement in the game. 👟 +21% in Train Running. Growth of app networks such as AllTrails and Strava help to build community around an independent activity. 🚴 +11% growth in Bicycling. National Cycling League (NCL) is pioneering team-based cycling in the US to build cohesion with the local cycling communities across the US. __ 💡 *Accessibility* is a theme that I expect to grow in prominence across all sports organizations (both emerging sports such as 🏓 Pickleball and established sports such as 🏀 Basketball) and functions (Group Sales, Digital Marketing, Sponsorship Activation). Seeking roles at highly-accessible *emerging sports* or *sports-adjacent* organizations that are building accessibility can unlock opportunities for innovation and growth. Or, discovering ways that your function can drive *accessibility* for fans, sponsors, or community participants can help you achieve successes in your current work. __ 🔗 Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/eq4VeWAe ⭐️ If you're in Baltimore, Boston, Charleston, Denver, NYC/NJ, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, or Washington, DC, check out both Full Time and Part Time roles at Volo Sports to help drive *accessibility* first hand: https://lnkd.in/erbsW2e8 What sport(s) do you believe will see the greatest participation growth in the next 3 years? ⬇️ 💬

Does Gen Z want to engage and make friends at work? What can companies do to help the newest members of the workplace feel connected without being too imposing? We have all heard both sides of the argument. Our corporate clients and prospects have shared that they find a dual challenge: ·      Trying to foster a sense of community and camaraderie among their employees, particularly among their younger Gen Z teammates and ·      Continuing to offer flexible work arrangements for work-life balance and to meet employee expectations. While there is evidence that unlike their predecessors, Gen Z often prefers to keep their work and personal lives separate, leading to a reluctance to engage and make friends at work, we have been hearing that many don’t want fully remote jobs and do want to connect with new co-workers for meaningful relationships. To address this issue, companies we’ve spoken to are trying a variety of strategies including: 1.      Mentorship programs: Pairing younger employees with mentors can help foster connections across level and experience and provide guidance and support in both personal and professional ways 2.      Large Group Team-Building Activities: Organizing large team-building events brings diverse people from groups together in facilitated, inclusive ways during which people can get to know each other in new ways and build stronger relationships. 3.      Smaller In-Person Experiences by Interest: These include the usual lunches, happy hours, etc. but adds experiences by interest like book groups, sports teams/leagues, fitness challenges and community service projects (which can be integrated into larger team building events) 4.      Flexible but Structured Work Arrangements: Coupling flexibility with defined time when everyone on a team needs to be in the office helps foster “loose” connections, many of which become “strong” over time What have you seen at your company? Please let us know. We’re happy to discuss. #companyevents #teambuilding
