We are in search of a motivated, experienced, and innovativeAccountant to join our primarily virtual Controller Shared Service (CSS) team, which is mainly located in Reston – VA, Tucson – AZ, Huntsville - AL and Oak Ridge – TN. As a core member of the CSS team, you will play a valuable part in supporting and executing a wide range of projects and programs. A successful candidate will manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with a team and providing top level customer service. This role will be primarily remote with potential for in-office engagement and training activities.

THE CHALLENGE: (primary responsibilities)

• Prepare monthly close entries, ensuring that the journal entry is properly supported for audit purposes and properly recorded in the ledger.
• Support with the accounting close process, including the review and recording of journal entries, and completion of account reconciliations.
• Support ad hoc requests and projects within Operational Accounting and from other stakeholders, such as internal audit, external audit, government compliance, etc.
• Review and process daily journal entries submitted by Program Finance community.
• Possess the skills to identify and analyze issues, communicate upward and involve Leads/Managers (if needed), and hold meetings with stakeholders to resolve matters in a timely manner.
• Willingness to volunteer for new projects, tasks, or ad-hoc duties; including but not limited to, Fixed Asset administration, reprimes (org restructuring), Balance Sheet Reconciliations (including administrative duties), Revenue Redistribution, Pass Thru Journal Entries.
• Willingness to train new team members or customers from other departments on various topics
• Become familiar with accounting policies to ensure compliance.
• Willingness to volunteer and seek out projects and challenges that will help our customers internally and externally, while also helping to mitigate risk to Leidos.
  
  

WHAT SETS YOU APART: (Required Skills)

• Bachelor's degree in a Business or Accounting related field of study with 2+ years of related experience or a Master’s in Accounting with less than 2 years of prior experience.
• Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles, specifically Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Must be self-motivated and willing to independently study concepts and policies with the goal of shortening the learning curve.
• Strong computer skills including being proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Should have a flexible work schedule and the willingness to work additional hours during surge or accounting close weeks.

Pay Range

Pay Range $49,400.00 - $89,300.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
