Our direct client is seeking an Accountant II for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity with their Columbia, SC location.
Description
The Accountant II role provides services in the area of high risk assets and participation loans for those associations subscribing to the bank's optional loan accounting functions. On the association's behalf, you will perform the actual processing of DNA and General Ledger transactions. Ensuring that all loan and accounting records are properly maintained, and that procedures and internal controls are followed.
What They'll Do
Provide daily support of high-risk accounting for subscribing associations.
Prepare worksheets and processing of loan and general ledger transactions for activity.
Review selected reconcilement reports and take corrective actions as needed to clear any reconciling item daily
Process new sales, and monitor the sold loans to ensure that the record is in sync with the parent loan
Provide support for monthly and quarterly reporting for high-risk asset
What They'll Need
Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and other customized software
Minimum of three years of Accounting experience
Knowledge of bank operations and regulations
Understands and adheres to GAAP
