Description: We currently have an opportunity for an Accountant, with the possibility to work remotely. This position will be responsible for general ledger accounting, month-end close, and various other tasks supporting the Varian Corporate business unit.
Responsibilities
Responsible for monthly journal entries and reconciliations for responsible entities.
Responsible for monthly upload of SAP financial data to ESPRIT reporting system.
Work with other finance and accounting teams across the US and globally.
Gather data as requested for federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
Participate in periodic Fixed Asset Verification process.
Compile information for periodic financial disclosures and ad hoc reports.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS and other accounting regulations.
Other projects as needed.
Minimum Required Skills And Knowledge
Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP desired.
Experience with payroll desired.
As member of a small team, be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently with a high level of autonomy, but also comfortable collaborating with other team members and departments.
As part a new, growing division, ability to be flexible and comfortable with ongoing changes.
Typical Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 3-5 years of related experience.
