About The Role
- Under the direction of the VP of Product, the Actuarial Analyst is responsible for supporting business needs with pricing and data analysis. The role will focus on analyzing trends, performance metrics, and market information to provide insight on both current product performance and the development of new products. The Analyst will be part of a dynamic growing organization and be exposed to a wide variety of business initiatives. The position offers the opportunity to work fully remotely.
What You'll Do
- Gathers key business data and performs actuarial analysis to evaluate the performance of auto insurance products.
- Analyzes internal, industry, and competitor information to evaluate pricing and segmentation. Makes pricing recommendations to address unfavorable trends or growth opportunities with current programs.
- Collaborates with the data analytics team on data needs, reporting, and modeling projects. Automates and improves processes to increase efficiency.
- Assists in the development and review of rate indications.
- Provides actuarial support for rate and product filings including measurement of rate impacts, documentation of analysis, and responding to insurance department objections.
- Contributes to the development of and design of new rating plans, processes, and products.
- Supports business planning and forecasting process.
- Communicate results of analysis effectively with management and business partners
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, actuarial sciences, or a related field
- 3 years of actuarial or pricing experience
- Successful completion of at least 1 CAS exam, with 2 preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, SAS, R, Python, or other analytic or query tools
- Strong Critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis skills. Must be able to analyze information from multiple data sources and inputs.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be team-oriented and work well collaboratively.
