Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret complex data using statistical and mathematical techniques to assess financial risks.
- Develop and implement actuarial models and methodologies for pricing, forecasting, and risk assessment.
- Evaluate and manage risks related to insurance policies, pensions, investments, and financial products.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations that communicate actuarial findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments, including finance, underwriting, and investment teams, to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Monitor and assess industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic conditions that may impact actuarial models and assumptions.
- Assist in the development of pricing strategies, reserve calculations, and financial projections.
- Ensure compliance with actuarial standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct experience studies and analysis to support the development of actuarial assumptions and methods.
- Provide expertise and guidance on actuarial issues and contribute to strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or actuarial certifications (e.g., ASA, FSA) preferred.
- Proven experience as an actuary or in a similar actuarial role.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in actuarial software and statistical tools.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex actuarial concepts clearly.
- Knowledge of actuarial standards, industry regulations, and financial principles.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
