Reports to: Dr. Karen Baskerville, Professor and Chair
JOB SUMMARY:
Conducts University courses for undergraduate students by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment and requires a flexible schedule. The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions and protection from weather conditions.

JOB SUMMARY:
Conducts University courses for undergraduate students by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for teaching assigned courses in the Biology Department. Teaching duties may include Anatomy and Physiology lectures and labs, Biology Labs for Pre-Nursing Students, and Biology labs for both Biology and non-Biology majors.
- Prepares lab exercises for students and conducts them.
- Provides supply requests to lab manager at least one week prior to conducting each lab.
- Grades lab reports and/or lab tests and explains the grades to the students.
- Prepares quizzes, tests and practical exams and conducts them;
- Other relevant duties can be assigned.
- M.S. in Biology or related discipline (completed by the time of hire); Ph.D. preferred.
- Previous experience with teaching undergraduate labs and familiarity with non-biology major students are advantages.
- A commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
- Must be able to make decisions supporting the department’s mission and goals.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and projects and prioritize based on departmental functionality.
- Must have excellent communication skills, oral and written.
- Must have interpersonal skills, and the ability to work within a culturally diverse organization.
- Must have a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
