Creating a healthier future for all children #WellBeyondMedicine

About us

Nemours is committed to improving the health of children. As a non-profit children’s health organization, we consider the health of every child to be a sacred trust. Through family-centered care in our children’s hospitals and clinics in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida, as well as world-changing research, education and advocacy, Nemours fulfills the promise of a healthier tomorrow for all children — even those who may never enter our doors. Nemours began more than 80 years ago with the vision of Alfred I. duPont to improve the lives of children and to do whatever it takes to prevent and treat even the most disabling childhood conditions. Today, through our children’s hospitals and health system, we directly care for 250,000 children annually in Delaware Valley and Florida, including families who travel from across the country and world to see our specialists — treating every child as we would our own. We also reach beyond the walls of our hospitals and clinics to be a voice for children on a national and international level, and to lead the way in prevention, intervention, education, and research. Nemours is growing to better serve the children and families in our care. We have 1.1 million square feet of space currently devoted to providing children’s healthcare or under construction, all designed with significant input and advice from our patients and families.

We are proud to announce the expansion of our partnership with the Jacksonville Jaguars as their official pediatric partner. Over the next three years, Nemours Children’s Health and the Jaguars will launch the first-ever Jaguars Kids Club, offering exclusive access and events for young fans. We’re also thrilled to have Brian Thomas Jr. and Maason Smith join us as our inaugural NFL brand ambassadors, supporting our mission to improve children's lives on and off the field. Today, the Jaguars had the honor of meeting Elena, who is being treated for leukemia at Nemours. Her mom, Natalie, shared their inspiring story – she’s been cancer free for 17 years after being treated for leukemia at Nemours as a child! This partnership is a testament to our shared mission of making a positive impact in the lives of children like Elena. For more details, visit: https://bit.ly/3ZfGXXT

What does #WholeChildHealth look like on the ground? Oregon’s approach to whole child health shows us how states can use policy tools to advance whole child health to lift up all children. The latest Whole Child Health Alliance report highlights how Oregon has: · Grown and fostered its pediatric health care workforce, including children’s behavioral health specialists. · Promoted health and well-being in the early years by ensuring continuous Medicaid coverage from birth to age six and implementing programs to incentivize and support kindergarten readiness. · Addressed unique regional needs by investing in local communities and engaging community members to help inform policy.
