Purpose of the Position

The Alumni Services Advisor connects graduates with allied healthcare employers, ensuring their employment success. They manage both graduate-facing and employer-facing aspects of Career Services, helping graduates achieve their desired career outcomes.

UMA is a nonprofit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus.

  • Pay rate of $20.00/hr
  • Medical (including prescription), Dental, Vision (UMA subsidized)

What You’ll Do

  • Graduate Empowerment Influence, empower, and guide graduates toward successful healthcare careers, over-the-phone, on video calls, and via email.
  • Interview Coordination Prepare and coordinate graduate interviews, including those with national Corporate Alliance partnerships.
  • Career Coaching and Post-Placement Support Partner with graduates, providing guidance on interview techniques, workplace expectations, and resume best practices, in addition to post-placement support.
  • Employer Relationship Management Manage an assigned territory, develop relationships with allied healthcare employers, and facilitate graduate placements.
  • Documentation and Metrics Maintain accurate documentation, meet department metrics, and ensure timely placement of graduates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Skills – customer service, results-driven, communication/interpersonal skills, relationship building/rapport, and time management.
  • Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • Ability to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role.


Preferred Requirements

  • Any degree or equivalent experience and/or any strong or advanced proficiency in the above required skills/experience.
  • 1+ years’ experience in sales, inbound customer care, career coaching, staffing, long-line sales.
  • Experience in employment staffing, career services, out-placement services, or sales experience in the corporate sector and/or business development.
  • Experience cold calling in a production driven environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Other skills or abilities – influence, comfortability communicating with all levels of an organization, punctual, disciplined, complex problem-solving, attention to detail, and motivation.


Compliance

  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable state laws and rules, federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.


Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • This is a full-time remote position, with only occasional, planned onsite or travel requirements.
  • Home office set up, quiet place to work, ability to be on camera, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
  • May require setup of computer equipment; accommodation consideration available upon request.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
