AMBULATORY NURSE MANAGER - AMBULATORY CARE CENTER - FULL TIME DAYS (24695)

Responsibilities

In this role, the successful candidate Nurse Manager will oversee the delivery of ambulatory patient care with an emphasis on decision-making related to the steps in the nursing process to include assessment, diagnosis, and identification of expected outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

In this role, the Nurse Manager will ensure provision of competent, safe, and compassionate care by implementing and enforcing the BNBMC Patient Care standards.

As a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, the Nurse Manager will collaborate with providers and others on the clinical care team to formulate and implement comprehensive patient centered plans of care to achieve expected outcomes.

Effectively interacts with providers, patients, and families/patient support persons, to identify and resolve opportunities and/ or concerns related to the delivery of healthcare services.

Ensures compliance with standards and regulations promulgated by all applicable agencies.

Actively partners with BNBMC Clinical Team.

Provides Support And Oversight For Clinical Staff

In collaboration with the Director of Ambulatory Care, and CMO: interviews, hires, develops, guides, counsels, and disciplines clinical staff consistent with principles of caring, fair, and professional work environment.

Provides clinical supervision of LPNs, RNs, MAs and other clinical staff, ensuring all competencies and clinical responsibilities are met.

Supports, reinforces, and advocates for clinical roles in ambulatory practice.

Promotes employee engagement activities within the Ambulatory Care Center and solicits feedback.

Participates in practice operation activities by establishing efficient clinical workflows and operating with consideration of fiscal aspects related to staffing, skill mix and efficient use of resources.

Participates in Quality Improvement and Infection Prevention activities across the clinic related to clinical treatment and testing. Supports activities around national and statutory quality outcomes initiatives.

Resolve employee issues and addresses procedure and performance related issues.

Authorizes attendance, schedules, and sick time changes. Responsible for timekeeping and payroll for direct reports

Promotes satisfaction of internal and external customers through effective communication and use of efficient workflows, in partnership with the Ambulatory Care Leadership team

As such, utilizes independent judgement and decision-making skills, to ensure excellent patient experience and adherence to BNBMC standards.

Implements required components, and monitors adherence to regulatory guidelines as defined by specific entities for both global and specific practice / procedural areas.

Facilitates an environment conducive to creativity in practice, shared decision making, and collaboration with all members of the healthcare team.

Establishes clinical workflows most appropriate for practice.

Works closely with Ambulatory Care leadership to ensure goals are met and policies are followed.

Ensures medication products and clinical equipment are up to date, stocked & available as needed.

Collaborates with the Director of ACC, and Clinical Services Manager, physicians/clinicians to develop and maintain the provider scheduling templates in the EHR to maintain efficient patient flow while achieving productivity goals within each specialty as designated by the Director of Ambulatory Care. Provide oversight and support to appointment schedulers and serve as back-up support. Works closely with Practice Managers, physicians, and Patient Access to ensure physician/NP/PA and patient appointment preferences are met.

Responsible for monitoring medication, vaccine and drug supply; including ordering, ensuring proper storage, and reviewing expiration dates.

Operates with knowledge of practice budget with consideration to appropriate staffing, skill mix, patient outcomes, safety and efficient use of resources.

Collaborates Infection Prevention staff to uphold infection protocols and standards.

Participates in interdisciplinary teams and meetings related to Quality Improvement programs.

Identifies, investigates and proactively responds to potential and actual risk management issues, in accordance with state and national standards and BNBMC.

Participates in ongoing nursing leadership meetings and brings relevant information back to the clinical team for implementation.

Completes staff competency assessments and performance evaluations providing feedback, identifying training needs, and pathways for employee continued career success.

Conducts routine staff meetings and huddles to promote staff communication and feedback.

Position Qualifications

At least five years of clinical practice in the care of the patient population served (Ambulatory Care); ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion which addresses research subject/family satisfaction.

At least 1-3 years Progressive leadership demonstrated in a leadership position or demonstrates the potential for leadership competency; demonstrates ability to develop, guide, motivate, nurture, and coach others; participation in service of departmental committees.

Evidence of excellent people skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving.
