Under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Program Manager, the Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator supports the research efforts of several research projects, including regional projects and national clinical trials with the opportunity to interface with local and national level leaders in medicine and public health.

Key responsibilities include duties related to coordination, including creating training and educational documents, data collection tools, protocols, recruitment or protocol scripts, surveys, and preparatory documents.

It also includes coordinating meetings, including scheduling, and pulling together agenda and content for steering committee meetings. Additional responsibilities include data entry and creation of figures and graphs, and providing IRB support for drafts, submissions, modifications and progress reports. Duties will include interfacing with collaborators at participating sites.

Support of project activities may include travel to recruitment and follow up locations to ensure accurate conduct and progress. Such activities may include transporting swabs or bacterial strains, supporting performing body swabs {throat, nose, skin), and conducting chart reviews/redaction.

Position requires travel in personal car throughout Orange County and Southern Los Angeles County. All vaccines and health screening required for employees who have presence in hospitals and patient areas will be required, including, but not limited to influenza, COVID, TDap, chicken pox, MMR, TB, and hepatitis.

Your Role on the Team

  • Conducts research protocols with critical attention to detail. Evidence of multi-tasking abilities.
  • Demonstration of coordination of clinical trials and/or complex epidemiologic studies. Demonstrated experience in developing and managing IRB protocols.
  • Clear and professional communication skills; verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain accurate database files
  • Effective and professional interpersonal skills
  • Experience in MS Access
  • Ability to analyze a problem from inception to completion and provide suggested solutions.
  • Ability to operate a networked PC in a Windows environment with proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with data entry skills.
  • Prior research experience with demonstrated independent responsibilities and activities
  • Experience working in laboratory
  • Experience in MS PowerPoint
  • Ability to function well in a team environment
  • Highly attentive to proper handling of confidential information and documents
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Biological sciences or management fields preferred.
  • Master’s in Public Health or related field

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $26.6- $43.82 (Hourly).

Required

  • Minimum of 1 years of research experience required. Prior leadership and research experience with demonstrated independent responsibilities and activities. Ability to operate a networked PC in a Windows environment with proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with data entry skills.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree and/or experience in public health or clinical research preferred but not required. Experience in PowerPoint and Access desired.

Special Conditions

  • Valid California Driver’s License and have daily access to car for all work hours
