Assistant Controller

Our client is a private equity firm. They seek an Assistant Controller to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Ensure financial records comply with accepted policies and procedures
• Prepare journal entries and oversee general ledger operations
• Assess expense reports for accuracy and compliance with expense policy
• Manage monthly closings and preparation of monthly reports
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare account analysis
• Uphold accurate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures
• Gather information for year-end and mid-year budgets and prepare variance analysis
• Provide information for the preparation of various regulatory and tax returns
• Liaise with auditors to provide information for several year-end audits

Requirements

• 4+ years of accounting experience
• Private equity background
• Public or private accounting background
• Organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong computer skills
