Assistant General Counsel

Ocean Winds (OW Offshore, S.L.), a 50/50 joint venture by EDP Renewables (EDPR) and ENGIE, has brought its experience, skills and knowledge to the United States, one of its target areas for future growth. Ocean Winds North America (OW North America LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of OW Offshore, S.L.), oversees the research of potential and development of existing offshore wind lease areas across the nation.

We are looking for an Assistant General Counsel that meets the following:

Minimum qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one state.
• At least 4 – 6 years of in-house counsel or comparable law firm experience with emphasis on document drafting and negotiation.
• Experience in the renewable energy industry, both solar and wind acceptable, offshore wind a preferred plus
• Capable of working independently and efficiently to meet the demands of the team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in project development handling development, construction, and operations of large projects.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of project development contracts including construction agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, engineering and consulting services agreements, confidentiality agreements, purchase agreements, and other relevant documentation along with the manner in which corporate entities operate and are organized within the power industry
• Project finance and/or tax equity financing experience preferred
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Preferred)
• Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise. (Preferred)
