Summary

Full-Time Exempt

Remote work environment, with daily requirement during academic year and summer school for in person attendance for program delivery at schools, attendance at in-person team and partners meetings, attendance at organization events

The Assistant Program Director is primarily responsible for delivery of programs to students in Will Allen Foundation school partnerships, with the accompanying support and guidance of the Program Director. The Assistant Program Director position entails program delivery, data collection for reporting to data consultant, including student demographics and attendance, and assisting with monitoring program budget, partnership-building, and stewardship, supporting marketing and public relations. 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Works with supervisor and other professional staff and partners to deliver Quest for Real Life Success programming in robotics, financial literacy, social justice, and health and wellness and other curriculum areas. Must be able to deliver programming alone or in concert with Program Director, and personnel from partner organizations.


·        Assist Program Director in scheduling programming among school partners.

·        Support Program Director in purchasing and delivering meals and other supplies for students as needed during

programming. 

·        Assists with scheduling transportation as needed for field trips

·        Works with supervisor on setting professional development goals with clearly defined and measurable program

outcome/objectives

·         Program Participation and attendance tracking is kept up to date at all times · When responsible, grant and

program reports are completed in an accurate and timely fashion

·        Works with supervisor to monitor program monthly expenses to ensure expenses are within budget projections

·        Pursues effective collaborative partnership with other agencies, schools, businesses, etc. to increase the number

of youth being served

·        Establishes effective relationships with key school personnel to improve the delivery of WAF programs

·        Establishes effective and trusting relationships with partners and school personnel

·        Works with supervisor to utilize marketing and communications firm to advance brand elevation and support

social media and public relations initiatives

·        Participates in and supports organization-wide events planning and execution including student achievement

recognition events, PAK program, and Holiday Giving

·        Seeks advice from supervisor in the resolution of conflicts with the school personnel, teacher coordinators or

partners.

· Serves as a collaborative, respectful, cooperative member of the Will Allen Foundation staff team to advance

organizational goals.

· Serves along with other team members as a brand ambassador, maintaining integrity of the organization’s

public image and reputation.

· Other tasks and duties may be assigned from time to time.


Qualifications and Experience

Required

·        Minimum two years’ experience in nonprofit program management and/or delivery or teaching experience

·        Demonstrated project management experience

·        Excellent verbal and written communications skills

·        Proven interpersonal skills

·        Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Previous experience in delivering STEM programming

·        Previous work with middle and high school students


Preferred

·        Bachelor’s degree in education, sociology, social services or related field


Certifications Required:

·        Criminal Background Clearance Act 34 PA -- State of Pennsylvania

·        Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 33 PA – State of Pennsylvania

·        Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate – Federal Bureau of Investigation


General Requirements:

·        Ability to work some nights and evenings

·        Ability to attend, with reasonable notice, occasional in-person meetings and events; local travel may be required

·        Ability to attend field trips and other off-site events for students

·        Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation


Key Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Ability to develop positive professional relationships as well as perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Ability to develop strong, supportive, and trust-based relationships with a diverse cohort of students.

Ability to work effectively with multiple partners and collaborators of WAF. 

Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include operating standard office equipment and computer; planning and managing projects; researching post-secondary options and corresponding requirements; preparing and maintaining accurate records; and utilizing pertinent software applications.

Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances: analyze data utilizing defined but different processes and operate equipment using a variety of processes. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a wide variety of types of job-related equipment.

Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with the online college and career platform is significant. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include communicating with persons of varied knowledge and backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; working as part of a team; adapting to changing priorities; and applying logical processes and analytical skills

 Responsibilities include working independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve unit objectives: leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others: and operating within a defined budget.
